Baby Shower Games

Did you say "Baby"?
Provide a candy pacifier with a string or ribbon to each guest when he/she arrives. Have the guests wear the pacifiers around their necks and tell them not to say "Baby" during the party. When someone does, the first person who catches the slip, gets to confiscate the pacifier. The person with the most pacifiers at the end of the party, wins!
To make the candy pacifier, glue two lifesavers together with one standing up on the other. Then glue one small jelly bean on the upright lifesaver. String the ribbon through the hole to make the necklace.

Who am I?
This game is good for a shower where the guests don't know each other very well. Prior to the shower, write a name of a famous mom on a folded card, using famous mothers of twins if the shower is for a Mom-to-be of twins. Choose as many participants as you have names, attach the name card to his/her back in the way that he/she cannot peek at his/her name in a mirror. The task is for the participant to figure out the name of the person on his/her back by asking the other guests questions which can only be answered with a "yes" or a "no". The first person to guess correctly is the winner.
Examples of famous moms: Princess Diana, Laura Bush, Madonna, Mrs. Cunningham - from the Happy Days TV show, etc...
Examples of questions: Am I alive?, Am I American? Am I fictional ?etc...

Who knows the Mother-to-be best?
Ask everyone to fill out a sheet of 20 questions about the Mother-to-be. The mom fills out a sheet of her own answers. The person with the most correct answers wins.
Examples of questions:
1. What are the color of her eyes?
2. What is she wearing today?
3. Has she had any food cravings? If so, what was it?
4. Does she hope for boy, girl or either?
5. What names does she have for picked for the baby?
6. What are the colors she has picked for the nursery?
7. What is her favorite children's character?

How big is the Mother-to-be's belly?
Pass around a spool of ribbon and a pair of scissors. Have each guest cut off a piece of ribbon in a length that he/she thinks would fit around the Mother's middle. Then the Mommy-to-be gets to show off her proud belly while trying on each ribbon. If the Mommy-to-be is not comfortable trying every ribbon, measure her waist and compare to each cutting. The person with the closest length wins a prize.

Baby and pregnancy words
Have the guests unscramble baby and/or pregnancy related words. The first person to complete the unscrambling properly is the winner. If no one completes the list within 10 minutes, the one with the most correct answers is the winner.
Examples of words:
Scrambled: Peidar, Rupb, Sitbenas, Treesbidganef, Searance, Raxbont Kisch, Raragice, Kirgonc Hicar, Yabb Gnisw, Licoc, Rastprengdan, Fraiceip, Pist Pu, Brownen, Tolbet, Keltnab, Ditmnhig, Declra, Goconi, Nesegfid.
Answers unscrambled: Diaper, Burp, Bassinet, Breastfeeding, Cesarean, Braxton Hicks, Carriage, Rocking Chair, Baby Swing, Colic, Grandparents, Pacifier, Spit Up, Newborn, Bottle, Blanket, Midnight, Cradle, Cooing, Feedings.

Nursery rhyme
Print out one line from several nursery rhymes on paper. Provide the papers to the guests and ask them to guess the rhymes. The person who can guess the most rhymes wins! For twin's baby shower, you may use cliches with the word two, twice, double, etc... Then give the guests clues and the guests have to deduce the cliche. The person with the most correct guesses wins!

Due date
Ask the guests to tell their birthdays. The person whose birthday was closest to the baby's due date wins a prize. You can also give a prize to the person whose birthday was closest to the mother's birthday.

Guess the number of candies
Place assorted Hershey's miniatures in a baby bottle. Have the guests guess how many of one color or all colors in the bottle. The person with the closest answer with not going over wins. You can also use other kinds of candies in pink, blue and white colors.

Match name to meaning
Make a list of the guests's names on one side of a paper. Place meanings or origins of these names on the other side of the paper in different order. Have everyone try to match the name with it's meaning. The person with the most correct answer wins a prize.
